ANGMERING AND DISTRICT DART LEAGUE

2008-2009 RULES

1.The league shall be called the ‘Angmering and District Dart League’, and that all pubs/clubs shall pay a £10 joining fee for each team, per season, payable at the Registration meeting.

2.The league shall be governed by a Management Committee, which shall consist of one member from each team competing.

3.All games shall commence at 8.31pm and be continuous. Any game which is unable to be played will be forfeited by the defaulting team.

4.Teams shall consist of a minimum of 8 players. Games to be

8 singles - 401 Double in / Double out

4 pairs - 501 Double in / Double out

2 fours - 601 Double in / Double out.

The winning team will receive 3 league points, and if the match is drawn each team will receive 1 point.

5.No player may throw in more than one single, one double

and one fours game. In the event of a shortage of players the Captain of the team concerned may play reduced numbers of players in the pairs or fours, or forfeit the games not played. The games with reduced players must be the last ones played in the pairs or fours. The Captain puts his/her players up in the order of his/her choice. The home team must send a player or players to the board first.

6.Any darts may be used as per B.D.O. regulations.

7.Darts cannot be rethrown, and darts only count if the points are touching the surface of the board.

8.The minimum throwing distance to be 7’9 ¼ inches, and the centre of the ‘Bull’ to be 5’8inches from the floor.

9.All scores to be checked before the arts are removed, the away team to supply a checker.

10.A player may be told ,if he/she asks, what number has been scored, or what is required for the game, by the scorer, but not how to score it. Scoreboards must be in a position where both players can see the score.

11.The nearest dart to the ‘Bull’ shall decide which team throws first. Home team goes first. Any player scoring a’Bull’ or 25 has the option of removing his/her dart , and if his/her opponent equals the score, both players shall throw again in reverse order. ‘Bull’ counts as double 25.

12.Men and women are eligible to play in this league. If players are minors they must have the agreement of the venue before the minor enters the premises.

13.All players must pay a registration fee of £1.00 to the League.

14.A club/pub playing an unregistered player shall lose the match, and have a point deducted.

15.Players may be registered on the day of a game before 8pm by means of a telephone call to the League Secretary. Players may not be registered on the day of a competition.

16.No player may play for two teams on the same evening.

17.The club/pub for whom a player first plays shall be his/her team for the season. Players may be transferred by means of the Captains of both teams involved telephoning the League Secretary. No player may be registered or transferred after the last game of the first half of the season

18.The League Winners shall be the team obtaining the highest number of points. In the event of a tie there will be a playoff. If there are more than two teams involved a ‘Round Robin’ will take place to determine the League Winner.

19.A special meeting may be called, by two or more pubs/clubs in writing seven clear days before the meeting is required. The Management Committee shall have the power to deal with all and any matters which may arise that are not covered in the rules.

20.Winning teams shall return the result cards. Any cards received after the Wednesday following previous match will be deemed to be late, and winning team will have 1 League point deducted. Any team returning abusive cards will have 3 League points deducted.

21.All trophies to be returned to the League 8 weeks prior to the Presentation Evening.

22.Teams wishing to continue in the League should attend the A.G.M., or notify the League Secretary before the A.G.M.

23.All players named on registration form must be paid foe by their clubs/pubs, any player who is registered part way through the season must be paid for at the nearest meeting to the registration.

24.Non – attendance of meetings. 1League point will be deducted by defaulting teams unless an apology is received by the League Secretary before the commencement of the meeting.

COMPETITION RULES


1.No member of a team is eligible to play in any Competition unless they have played in at least one League game.

2.Roll call for competitions is 8.15pm sharp. Any player arriving after this time will not be allowed to play in the competition . There are no exceptions. The draw will then be made. Competitions will start at 8.30 sharp.

3.No player already drawn at one venue for a competition may change to another venue. NO EXCEPTIONS. A player may be substituted by another, not drawn in the competition in pairs and fours before a dart has been thrown in that competition.

4.Venue Captains and vice captains shall be members of the home dart team wherever possible.

5.All teams must play the same 2,3,or 4 players as at the start of the first competition game. Players may be substituted(see Rule 3).
