Comments anyone?

  1. Congratulations to the 2010 LDO Premier League Darts Champion JAMES GREENFIELD.

  2. Good explanation Admin - methinks seeing the ko qualification as a "cut-off" point for the groups first (like the golf..! [lol]), then its quite well structured for payout (:-}). The main thing is that it maintains a good std, competitive session of darts enjoyed by all (I hope!) - good luck everyone..

  3. Total Premier League funds should be £700. But we are playing for approx £600 tonight due to missing players/no subs/not selling all football cards etc
    1st Place - £200
    2nd Place - £100
    3rd & 4th Place - £50 each
    5th, 6th, 7th & 8th Place - £25 each
Most 180's, Highest Check Out & Least Darts will be £20 each.

  4. The originally quoted 'total' prize fund of £1200 was as follows (with 32 players competing in all events):
    Registraion Night Singles: £160
    Registration Fees: £160
    Player Subs: £400
    Football Cards: £130
    Singles Competition: £160
    Pairs Competition: £160
    TOTAL PRIZE MONEY £1170*
    * for 32 players competing in all events!!

  5. I think its fair that players are only being paid to the last 8. The reason for this is quite simple... no other competition with up to 32 players would pay out at the last 16 stage. Simples!!
This is a "semi-professional" standard league as we are playing for good money. The format and league we are playing in is somewhat superior to any other league i've ever heard of in the South!!

  6. Well said, Mick..

Just want to congratulate Dayle on winning the Worthing Open yesterday (played solid all day & deserved the win, even tho he beat myself..! lol). Well run event by Matt & friends + Good support by the T/Beckett pub. Well done to all (32+) who turned up for it, many of whome were from the Prem Lg. - Good show, hope more will follow..! Looking fwd to 2mrrw night.. {;-})

  7. Oh **** !

Why did my misses drag me off on holiday, I have missed the cut now.

It was a good league and I enjoyed playing though, very well organised as well (Unlike some I play in).

(Posted on 2010-04-11 10:12:00 by Mic Clarke.)
  8. Hi Andy - the prize structure's no longer visible, but when shown earlier it indicated that if you qualified for the playoffs, then lost the first round (i.e. finished 9th - 16th overall, there was no payout.. Also talking about the amounts given for the least darts, most 180s, HCO etc being the same as the quarter final positions. See what you mean about the table points cutoffs - arrgh! "twas a tough voyage thru group 2" eh? [lol]

(Posted on 2010-04-09 15:25:00 by Paul Woolfenden)
  9. I see what your saying Paul but every one knew from the off set they had to get into the top 8 to make the play offs, stats i dont think are relevant when you have more than one group, you can see just by looking 16pts finished 5th in group one, 16pts did not qualify in group two.

(Posted on 2010-04-09 14:44:00 by Andy Hills)
  10. Hmmm - so 9-16th players dont get a sniff & stats winners get same as 5th-8th players? I know there's not as much kitty to play with as was anticipated (a large part of £1200?), but i know that if I finished 9th downwards I wouldn't be a happy bunny..! (;-})

  12. sounds good think this is loads better as you get the chance to beat the players that should of been wins but didnt . would it be worth having something like a players meeting or agm to discuss rules , how things could be improved and may be the election of a commitee

  14. just want to say sorry to gemma and roger for not chalking there game it was a honest mistake i realy didnt realise i was ment to chalk, looking forward to next season and chalking every game i have too ;)

  15. p.s. I dont agree with Matts last comment about losing all your previous points won if you're on holiday, as the person may have beaten you, but other people may get an instant 4-0 win when that players on holiday which isn't fair (is this what you mean?). Its one of those arguments that has two ways about it. I do agree that people who confirm that they "drop out of the league" or "pull out of the league" should lose ALL previous points won and all the opposing players should get the 4-0 win against them.

(Posted on 2010-03-29 16:00:00 by James Stephenson)
  16. I agree with Matt... unless a club can put us 8 boards up ;o)
64 is a possibility in the future as there were players from Bognor/Chi/Worthing/Crawley/Horsham/Portslade showing a lot of interest, but not prepared to give up their Tuesday pub teams at the time of registration. We're still learning, so this will be the best league next time... if its not already!!

(Posted on 2010-03-29 15:29:00 by James Stephenson)
  17. think we should stick to 32 players but have 16 players at 1 venue . 16 the other . then following week swap venues . so we play at both . no catch up causes too many problems . and we play each other twice so ten weeks in total . top 8 from each group go through to play off tournament .and we play every week as most people i have talked too prefered that . with exception of andy hills that lives in some foreign country .lol . just think 64 is very unlikely to fill what with not being able to do 32 . also if people are on holiday during any of the games they should give up all their points otherwise unfair to players that may have lost to them during the season .

  18. This is your league, so please feel free to add constructive comments, ideas for the next premier league. This will probably be after the summer now. Any concerns/mistakes can be ironed out ready.

(Posted on 2010-03-25 16:40:00 by Admin)
  19. Apologies but the updated table will be added tonight/tomorrow.
We're still learning and trying to get everything right ready for the next premier league. Thanks to Woolfy for spending the time to build our points/table program. There is only a few adjustments to make and it wont affect too many people.

(Posted on 2010-03-25 16:35:00 by Admin)
  20. Steve, I guess as soon as James uses the updated program i've sent him to generate the adjusted tables? (Would be good to have them before final week so folks can see what they need to do.. {;-}) )

(Posted on 2010-03-25 14:43:00 by Paul Woolfenden)
  21. so when do you knock these points off?

(Posted on 2010-03-25 14:17:00 by Steve Hart)
  22. Cheers bud - think i've got a fix in mind already - will just add to what you've got so far..

(Posted on 2010-03-22 20:33:00 by Paul Woolfenden)
  23. 2 point deduction for not showing up at all for league night.
2 point deduction for arriving after 7:45pm.
Its all in the rules people!!
Woolfy, i'll email you the program in the morning, is that ok?

(Posted on 2010-03-22 20:25:00 by Admin)
  24. Take it you mean extra point(s) deducted (i.e. in addition to the 4-0 defaults already appplied)? If so, how many for what.. (let me know in e-mail together with latest copy of program). I'll see what i can do (aahh, some woolfy S/W "Magic" [lol])

(Posted on 2010-03-22 20:17:00 by Paul Woolfenden)
  25. Tables now updated but do not include individual point deductions for "no shows" and "lateness". Woolfy, are you able to sort this out if i send you your spreadsheet back to you? All too complicated!!!! lol

(Posted on 2010-03-22 19:43:00 by Admin)
  26. I like the every other week format especially as its a 60 mile round trip for me to play makes it affordable. Sorry lads no summer league for me, nothing stands in the way of star darts, i will be back in winter without fail

(Posted on 2010-03-21 21:21:00 by Andy Hills)
  27. 32 players over 2 venues playing every week is probably the way forward. Anyone else interested in becoming committee/league managers? Had a couple of people come forward.

(Posted on 2010-03-21 20:43:00 by Admin)
  28. Its good to see people using the comment box proactively. Its your league, have your say. It does seem to be dragging on a bit, i must admit. Russ Bray will not be doing our Finals night now, so singles will be played to winner and play off night will also determine premier league champion.
A few drop outs will have a slight affect on Prize Money. Apollo Taxis have agreed to sponsor the next premier league!! Onwards & Upwards!!

(Posted on 2010-03-21 20:41:00 by James Stephenson)
  29. the format seems fine , but maybe stick with 32 players at 2 venues then everybody gets to play every week. just seems to be dragging on with the gap week. but still enjoying the league.

(Posted on 2010-03-20 10:59:00 by dayle smith)
  30. also noticed that a few players aint been deducted points for not turning up or leaving early and not arranging a chalker . are they going to be deducted at end of the 5 weeks so players know where they stand in the tables

(Posted on 2010-03-19 20:06:00 by matt bourner)
  31. dont know if im the only 1 thinking or feeling it but dont like it or have the same willingness to play everyother week . prefered playing in the first prem league when it was every week .is there also going to be a summer league and would it disrupt with the tuesday night summer league ?

(Posted on 2010-03-19 20:02:00 by matt bourner)
  32. 64 players is a bit much me thinks, you would need a bigger venue and atleast 8 boards for 32 players a night

(Posted on 2010-03-19 11:26:00 by courtney)
  33. If its after July put me down and prod a few others as well

(Posted on 2010-03-04 21:15:00 by Andy Macintosh)
  34. think 64 players may be wishful thinking we seemed to have lost 2 players last time . hope you find them.

(Posted on 2010-03-03 16:48:00 by dayle smith)
  35. Premier League Darts SUMMER 2010 - so, who's up for more Premier League Darts action in the Summer? We are looking to grow the league again. If we each found just 1 player, we could have 64 players playing out of 2 venues fortnightly. Thats over £2000 in league prize money!!
    GET PLAYER HUNTING!!!!

(Posted on 2010-03-03 15:18:00 by Admin)
  36. Well, found out for myself - really nice throws now (although this time i found board 4 tricky - although methinks everybody's got their own story! [lol])

(Posted on 2010-03-03 12:36:00 by Paul Woolfenden)
  37. Hey the folks from Group 1 - What are the new board throws like? (Photos look good, but whats the verdict?)

(Posted on 2010-02-25 22:48:00 by Paul Woolfenden)
  38. Great 160 from gary shame it was against me

(Posted on 2010-02-14 14:09:00 by Lee Passey)
  39. Lovely 160 finish from Gary Blackwood and a nice 13 darter from Gary Palmer.

(Posted on 2010-02-13 16:22:00 by James Stephenson)
  40. Nice finish Gary, where did that come from. Well played last night Nick awsome, leave the best till last you sod

(Posted on 2010-02-10 07:24:00 by Andy Hills)
  41. mick rogers had 12 darts against matt bourner in the first week against me on the 3rd leg . didnt know we were doing least darts . or to write it down

(Posted on 2010-02-08 10:34:00 by matt bourner)
  42. no 180,s in the last prem league . but finding the range now "lol"

(Posted on 2010-02-07 16:23:00 by dayle smith)
  43. Nice one James - I see James & Mick (grp1) have yet to have their arses kicked?! - ahh, only time will tell..

(Posted on 2010-02-07 16:17:00 by Paul Woolfenden)
