Angmering & District Darts League 2009 - Minutes from meeting

Minutes of first A.G.M.of new Friday night winter dart league.
Present: - representatives from the following local dart teams.
East Preston Football Club, Angmering Football Club, Arundel Football Club, Maltravers Club, Rustington Sports & Social Club, Vardar V.I.P. Club, British Legion East Preston, Sportsman, & Littlehampton Trades & Labour Club.

Meeting opened at 2025 by Mark Walker.
Bob Chapman reported that this meeting was called as a direct result of feedback from individual players from most teams in the Littlehampton and District Invitation Dart League. These players stated that they were not happy about how things were run in the named league, namely how decisions were made behind closed doors, and how draws for some competitions were not made in full view of the management committee.
Bob Chapman stated that if this proposed new league started there would be no ‘behind closed doors’ goings on. Everything would be discussed and implemented out in the open at league meetings.

2.Format
Bob Chapman proposed the format stays the same as L&DIDL , i.e. 8 singles, 4 pairs and 2 fours.
This was passed by the floor.
Sponsorship for trophies had already been provisionally agreed with the Oval Racing Organisation in return for some advertising on the league website. This would be discussed with James Stephenson(EPFC) the creator of the website.
Brian Fiske stated that there were some trophies at the BLEP that may be reused, also some at the TMG club in Worthing.
All teams represented stated they would like to play in a new league, except Sportsman and Labour Club who said they had to consult their players. Angmering Social Club and Crown Littlehampton wish to play in new league. BLEP state they may have two teams .
Andy Ide proposed that the Captains cup be dropped as an individual competition, and that a Captains league be set up. This was discussed at much length and a vote was called. 6 for and 8 against. Captains Cup will remain as an individual competition.
3.League Fees.
Mark Walker proposed that the registration fee for each team be £10, and £1 per player registered.
This was passed by the floor.
4.League Name.
Bob Chapman proposed that the name of an old league be resurrected. The Angmering and District Dart League.
This was passed by the floor.
This league will be affiliated to The British Darts Organisation(BDO).
5.League Rules.
The rules from L&DIDL were used as a template, and each rule was discussed at great length by the floor. A draft copy of the rules is attached. Competition rules and format were also discussed by the floor. Competition rules and format are attached.
6.League Start Date - September 19th
7.A.O.B.
Gill Smithers proposed that no food be provided on dart nights as it was difficult for some teams to get it made. This was discussed and it was decided to make the provision of food entirely optional.
A registration meeting was called for Wednesday 6th August at Rustington Sports and Social Club at 2030.
Meeting closed at 2200.
